Have your say on tourism plan

The draft English Riviera Destination Management Plan 2016-2021 Pride in Place, has been published for public consultation.

It is proposed that this Plan will replace the existing Tourism Strategy and establish a shared approach between key stakeholders to effectively manage tourism as a whole for Torbay.

The plan will focus collaborative effort, reduce duplication and maximise local investment whilst making the most of available resources. This approach is supported by VisitBritain and VisitEngland as an essential tool further supporting Government policy, encouraging destination organisations to become focused and efficient.

Earlier visitor and industry surveys took place in 2016 which have helped Torbay Development Agency, who wrote the plan on behalf of Torbay Council, to understand what people look for when they book a holiday, how they use the internet to research and book and what influences their decision on choosing a destination.

Read the plan and complete a small survey here.
