  1. I am at a complete loss as to why the developer and Torbay Council have failed to heed the community regarding these proposals the TNP and the TTCCP do not support the loss of Cary Green which has been designated as a protected green space. There is ample car parking nearby and many town centre 4 and 5 star hotels throughout the UK do not have car parks and manage perfectly well!

Either 10 or 14 storeys, this building will be far too high, casting a shadow and obliterating views. There are also some real concerns over the valuation – minus £2m for the Pavilion and a nil valuation on Cary Green simply does not make sense when you look at the price that other plots of land in private ownership have sold for recently.

One of the reasons given for the negative valuation is that the cost of repairs to the Pavilion that are needed, surely MDL as part of their lease are responsible for this. How is it that the current leaseholder has been allowed to neglect the building and will now with their partners NJG profit fro that neglect with this negative valuation?

Why did Torbay Council not seek funding form English Heritage to restore the Pavilion so that is could have a community use such as a cultural centre.
