Sad News

It is with much sadness that we have to report that local resident Pam Woolley died last week. Pam had a stroke last November, while in Chesterfield.  She then began recovery in Sheffield and Chesterfield hospitals, making intermittent progress.  Her condition unfortunately deteriorated over the last few weeks and she passed away last Wednesday.

Pam epitomized the ethos behind our group as she was not only a regular attendee at our meetings but did a great deal to promote neighbourliness in St Luke’s, even encouraging use of her apartment as a venue for the SLRA Thursday gatherings.  She was always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone that needed it, even providing temporary accommodation for one of her neighbours in Lytton House, whilst their apartment was uninhabitable.

The funeral will take place in Chesterfield on 28th March and Chris and Val Noble will attend on behalf of SLRA but also as friends as that is what Pam quickly became to anyone who knew her. She will be missed.

We intend to use some of the SLRA funds to send a flower bouquet on behalf of SLRA but if anyone wishes to make a donation to this please contact the Chair, Julie Brandon on 07522 509 642
