SLRA Computer Sessions will continue in 2016
Last Thursday saw the thirty-fifth meeting of our Computer Sessions group.
Since the first session, in February 2015, many topics have been covered ranging from basic computer design and operation to word processing and image manipulation. We have covered all the essential topics enabling safe on-line activity, including safe surfing, efficient and safe e-mailing, WiFi security, Broadband connections, use of public networks, and firewalls and virus protection.
The SLRA Computer Sessions, which have received a Big Lottery grant, have developed into ones which are group-led and where mutual support is readily available; we aim to continue with that philosophy during 2016.
The next session will be 7pm to 9pm, Thursday January 14 2016 in the Waldon Point meeting room, St Luke’s Road South, and new members are very welcome.
The only criterion is that you live within the St Luke’s area, and don’t worry if you don’t have a computer as we have easy-to-use laptops which may be borrowed.
You can see what we’ve been up to on the dedicated Web site, here. If you would like to know more or join the group, e-mail StLukesRA+CS@Gmail.Com, leave a message on 0844 487 9370 (charges may apply), or just turn-up at one of the sessions!
